Why does Reno Need the Lear Theater?

The Lear fills a distinct gap in the facilities needs of the arts and entertainment community of Reno/Sparks. There is a void in Reno when it comes to mid-sized community performance space that will allow local groups to perform and grow. Not only will it provide much needed performance and rehearsal space, but it will also facilitate a new level and quality of performance. The C.I.T.Y. 2000 Reno Arts Consortium conducted a survey of 20 arts organizations, which ranked the need for a new 400-600-seat performance facility as their #2 priority. The Lear Theater is an active participant in the Reno Art’s Consortium and is helping to establish Reno as a premier location for arts and culture.
