Joyce Trombley has served on the Lear Theater Board of Directors for five and a half years. She actively served on the Executive Committee for three years and has led the Board, as President, for the past two. Joyce has graciously volunteered to be the organization’s Interim Director and will continue providing leadership for the Lear Theater at this important stage of growth.
Currently, Joyce works as a Real Estate Agent for Dickson Realty, but prior to devoting herself to the real estate profession, Joyce worked as a telecommunication professional at Nevada Bell/SBC/AT&T. She held various positions within the corporation, all of which taught her numerous business strategies. Her last position at Nevada Bell/SBC/AT&T was Community Relations Director which allowed her to develop extensive networks and relationships within the Truckee Meadows.
Joyce’s community involvement includes past Chair of the Nevada Women’s Fund, President of the Parks and Culture Foundation, Art Commissioner for the City of Reno, Board Member on the Sierra Arts Foundation, and a member of the Reno Sparks Board of Realtors, the Reno Chamber of Commerce and Western Industrial Nevada.
Cathy Blankenship, Director of Development
Cathy joined the Lear staff in July 2005. She holds a B.S. in Recreation Administration from NorthernMichiganUniversity and completed her graduate studies for a Master’s in Education, School Administration, also from N.M.U. Cathy has 25 years of non-profit management experience, including twelve years as an Executive Director with Boys & Girls Clubs. Besides fund development, she is assisting the Lear with Board leadership and fiscal management. Cathy is currently serving on two Boards: the Sierra Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Capital Christian Center School Board.
Jessica Miller, Office Manager
Jessica is the newest addition to the Lear Theater, with a start date of July 16, 2007. Jessica holds a B.S. in History from the University of Nevada, Reno and has several years of experience in the office administration, event planning, and fund development fields. She has gained a wealth of knoweldge from her past non-profit employers, including the University of Nevada, Reno and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Jessica is also a Docent at the Nevada Historical Society and volunteers her time regularly.
